The Artist

Barbara Dahl was born and raised near White Fox in rural northeastern Saskatchewan. The area is situated on the rim of the Provincial forest. As a wildlife artist, adept in watercolor, acrylic, and most other mediums, Barbara has developed a keen appreciation for the unique wildlife of the area. She is also a member of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Artists' Association.

Over the years Barbara has tendered many paintings of the creatures surrounding the farm home. She bought home study courses and received certificates in General Art, Advertising and Illustration Art while raising three children and working on the farm with her husband Toby.

Her accomplishments include commissions, sign painting, logos, original watercolors and acrylics as well as Donations to Duck's Unlimited (sponsor) for many years.

Barbara's goal is to heighten the public's awareness of bird's and animals while stressing the importance of protecting places for these creatures in our shared environment.

Barbara's prints are available at Royal Oak Gallery in Saskatoon, the Jasper Marketplace in Jasper, Alberta, Avenida Art Gallery in Calgary, Alberta,Country Custom Framing & Gallery in Melfort, Saskatchewan, VHV Photo in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Gallery on Ross, Red Deer, Alberta, and Portrails by Heather, Regina, Saskatchawan.

The original watercolor "Applessence" was a first prize winner at western Canada's largest wildlife show "Reflections of Nature", held at the Saskatoon Inn, October 10 to 12, 1997. She has received a total of 14 ribbons including a first place ribbon for her Scratch Art "Snowy Owl" Portrait which has a Limited Edition of 100.
